Liang Tian

Liang Tian Research interests: digital health & well-being, specifically on how lifestyle factors may be related to mental & physical health. I’m excited about the potential for wearables & mobile applications to encourage lifestyle changes & to ameliorate well-being. I improve my own well-being by being active (long nature walks and runs), learning new things (Italian & underwater hockey), spending time with my favorite people and cats, and immersing myself in books & movies.

Liu Yongshi

Liu Yongshi Research interests: translational research on emotional disorders, focusing on modifiable risk factors for depression & anxiety & the interplay between cognitive processes & emotion regulation. I hope to develop and optimize interventions to enhance coping, resilience, & well-being in at-risk & affected populations. I am also passionate about exploring these topics via technology-based methods. Outside of research, I enjoy traveling, playing badminton, & watching TV shows & movies.

Celia Goh Si Min

Celia Goh Shi Min My research interests lie in the risk factors associated with psychiatric disorders and how psychological interventions can be enhanced to optimise care for individuals who are facing mental health challenges. I also enjoy learning about psychopharmacology and how it can be integrated with psychological interventions. Beyond my professional pursuits, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, taking long walks and catching up on reading over a nice cup of coffee.

Janis

Janrius Goh Chong Min My research interests include the psychological impact of belonging and emotional loneliness among youths, as well as exploring therapeutic techniques for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. To unwind, I enjoy going to the gym, meeting up with friends over a good meal and drinks, play video games as well as binge watching tv-shows.

Kelly Gan

Kelly Gan My research interests revolve around trauma and personality disorders, intergenerational processes, and the principles of positive psychology. I find joy in cultivating mindful moments, whether through journaling, spending time with loved ones, or indulging in true crime shows.

Han Sze Ying

Han Sze Ying My research interests broadly include stress and anxiety, as well as ways to increase positive emotions and improve well-being. My hobbies are cooking and learning languages.

Mahirah Abdul Latiff

Mahirah Abdul Latiff My research interests include topics related to adverse childhood experiences, parental and cultural factors in psychopathology, and evaluation of programmes or treatments. My hobbies are musical theatre (watching, listening, talking about it) and trying out eating places with my family.

Sim Ruo Qi, Joy My research interests broadly include adverse childhood experiences and their relationship with psychopathology, as well as related protective factors and treatments. My hobbies include taking long walks, reading, and bonding over good food with loved ones.

Lim Rui Wen My research interests are in trauma and its impact on youth well-being, and the factors that foster resilience. Outside of work, I enjoy nature, animals, and spending time outdoors.

Tan Tse Yee, Andrea

Tan Tse Yee, Andrea My research interests lie in examining the psychosocial and developmental mechanisms underlying mental health and psychopathology. I am particularly interested in how adverse childhood experiences, emotion regulation, and interpersonal dynamics contribute to trajectories of risk and resilience across the lifespan. Outside of my academic pursuits, I enjoy crocheting, curating oddly specific Spotify playlists, and exploring new cafes with friends.

Khoo Wan-Lyn

Khoo Wan-Lyn My research interests lie in understanding the underlying mechanisms and contributing factors of mood and anxiety disorders, particularly among youths, and exploring novel approaches to intervention. In my free time, I enjoy baking, cooking, golf and spending quality time with family and friends!

Christel Siaw Xue'Er

Christel Siaw Xue'Er My research interests primarily lie in adverse childhood experiences, clinical disorders, and effective interventions that address these challenges. Outside of academics, I enjoy building nano blocks and watching dramas to unwind and recharge.

Khoo Jin Ying, Sarah

Khoo Jin Ying, Sarah My research interests focus on how psychological factors such as a sense of purpose and perceived control in life serve as protective or risk factors in mood and anxiety disorders. In my free time, I enjoy watching dramas and taking long walks.

Lian Chee Heng Matthew Biosketch Photo

Matthew Lian Interests: clinical psychology, with a focus on mood and anxiety disorders that emerge alongside medical or biological conditions—such as chronic pain, post-surgical pain, and Parkinson’s disease. I’m also drawn to positive psychology because managing symptoms alone isn’t enough; I want to study how people can build strengths, meaning, and well-being to live as fully as possible. I enjoy my time outdoors running or inline skating, & am always down for a game of mahjong!

Huan Yuzhou

Huan Yuzhou I am interested in clinical psychology, particularly in the risk factors that influence the development and maintenance of mood and anxiety disorders. I hope to explore how insights into these factors can be used to enhance the effectiveness of psychological interventions. In my free time, I enjoy playing music and watching shows.

Thasneem Firdous

Thasneem Firdous My interests lie in clinical and forensic psychology, and I’m particularly curious about how evidence-based interventions can support mental well-being. Outside of academics, I enjoy watching shows, getting lost in a good book, or simply having a quiet and relaxing day at home.

Tarun Mohan

Tarun Mohan My research interest includes topics related to mood disorders, stress and anxiety, as well as topics related to self-improvement and digital mental health. My hobbies include sports such as football, touch rugby and softball, as well as music such as playing the drums and guitar. I enjoy going out with friends and family over the weekends.

See Rui Ting Rachel Biosketch: My research interests lie in the psychological risk factors associated with criminal behaviour and the development of interventions to reduce offending. Specifically, I am concerned with how personality disorders and adverse childhood experiences contribute to such behaviour. Beyond my academic pursuits, I enjoy watching Chinese historical dramas, engaging in handicrafts, and singing my heart out at karaoke sessions.
